Why is tracking fashion samples so difficult?

A stylist emails Tuesday morning. She needs a piece from your last collection. The shoot is Friday. You have no idea where it is. Could be with the photographer from a pull a month ago. Could be with a magazine. You vaguely remember it coming back to the studio, but you're not sure when. Three months of email to scroll. Text the intern. Walk the rack. Walk the warehouse.

This is what tracking samples looks like at most independent ateliers, and it isn't because designers are sloppy. The people who run these brands are obsessive about everything else in their craft. The problem is the tools. An inbox. A spreadsheet. Or one of the legacy fashion platforms that costs a fortune and was built ten years ago for brands that operate nothing like a couture house.

The cost isn't really the lost hour. It's the loan you couldn't confirm, so it went to a competitor. The editorial that closed. A trunk show that shipped without the dress a bride had flown in to try on.

Sample workflow is where small ateliers lose the most time. Almost nobody is building software for how this kind of brand actually runs. So we started there.
